1) Do you ever get pre-game nerves? If so, how do you deal with them?
Answer 1:
To answer simply no. But I used to. To deal with the nerves I would just talk to another player about the game or about something that I wouldn’t get nervous about. Or listen to music. Nerves come and go but don’t get nerves mixed up with excitement. If you’re ever nervous just say to yourself you are excited and can’t wait to play.
2) Do nerves ever make you feel sick - either before or during a game?
Answer 2:
Nerves never made me feel sick. I think I was only nervous when I knew I would be in trouble from my mum or dad haha.
3) How do you cope with the pressure and expectation, of having lots of people watching you?
Answer 3:
Coping with the pressure isn’t easy. But that’s other people’s pressure and expectation. You need to take the pressure off yourself. If you have been doing all the hard work and are committed and do what the coach asks of you then there should never be any pressure. If you believe in yourself and your ability and talent you won’t feel pressure. You will have the feeling that you can do anything. Trust me.
